2006 Leadership Candidates
Numerological Profile for Joe Volpe

Joseph Volpe, date of birth Sept. 21, 1947. The name Joseph Volpe (note: 4/4/8 total) is an excellent name for a banker or a professional organizer. Powerful, independent, self-directing, and successful. But the nickname Joe Volpe makes this guy socially likeable, head strong, self-determined and hard working. But unfortunately he lacks the kind of social magic that will turn him into a successful leader. Sorry Joe but it is just not there.

Campaign Misunderstandings

Birthpath wise Joe is a 6 birthpath, under a 3 last minor. Now that is great political numbers! Easy to like, does a good job and people can like him for a long time. On April 21, 2006 Joe announced his candidacy for party leader. Unfortunately Joe wins in his late 9/3 month and in a straight 3/3 day. Meaning that the whole campaign did not launch the way Joe had hoped. May proved full of misunderstandings and things did not get going until early June.

Ran Twice and Lost

An active Liberal since 1968. Fortunately for Joe that was his 1 Cycle year, a perfect time to launch something of major importance. Joe first ran in 1974 at 27 years old for municipal politics and was defeated. Joe was in his late 7 Cycle year, so all was not lost. He ran provincially in 1981 and lost again. Joe was in his late 3 Cycle year, which is a very poor time to run for office.

Wins Federal Seat in 1988

From there Joe was a successful behind the scene’s man and successfully supported Jean Chretien’s campaign for leadership in 1984. By the way, Mr. Volpe was in a perfect 8 Cycle year in 1984 and scored many very important points. In his 9 Cycle year in 1985 he ran for leadership of the party and lost, he lost again in 1986. Joe successfully won the party nomination in 1988 and represented the Liberals in the general election later on that same year. The election was Nov. 21, 1988. Joe was in his 3 Cycle year, 7/1 month and fortunately for Joe his 1/8 day. It was a good hit for Joe on that day but not much else. Brian Mulruney and the Conservatives won big (note: remember Free Trade?) and the Liberals were put in park until 1993.

Joe Supports Wrong Leadership Candidate in 1990

In 1990 Joe supported Paul Martin (note: d. of b. August 28, 1938) in the Liberal leadership convention that Jean Chretien (note: Jan. 11, 1934) closely won. That convention was not easy to predict for the experts, but the numbers were most revealing. Paul Martin was in his diplomatically friendly 2 Cycle year and Jean Chretien was in his much more exciting 5 Cycle year. Canada was in a 1 Cycle year which meant that it was in the mood for someone more daring than it appeared Paul Martin represented. Fortunately Jean Chretien’s 5 Cycle year would make him appear very daring, up for a fight and willing to take on all comers. So Joe was on the wrong side again and had to work very hard to gain ground with very tough minded, Jean Chertien.

Joe Passed Over Again & Again

After the Nov. 4, 1993 Liberal majority defeat of the Conservatives (note: Kim Campbell) poor Joe Volpe sat as a backbencher for a long time. Joe was in his 8 Cycle year in 1993 and all would not be lost. In June 1997 the Liberals won another majority and Joe Volpe was in a 2/5 month of his 3 Cycle year. An excellent time to be in an election. But in 1997 and again in 1999 Joe Volpe was passed over for a prime Cabinet job. Joe I could have told you that you can never challenge Jean Chretien on any in-house issues or you’re dead. So Joe kept heading major research papers within Party Caucus and earned endless respect.

In November 2000, Joe won his seat again without a problem. Joe was in another excellent period of time for an election. His late 6 Cycle year is always a powerful time. The only problem was that Joe kept suggesting things that were against Patry Caucus direction (e.g. funding private schools or status on Israel). Mr. Volpe and Prime Minister Chretien grew further apart and poor Joe was not reappointed to anything important again and again.

Volpe Supports Martin’s 8 Cycle Year Victory

Late in Joe Volpe’s 9 Cycle year in 2003, Paul Martin (note: d. of b. August 28, 1938) closely defeats Shelia Copps (note: d. of b. Nov. 27, 1952) for party leader. Joe Volpe had been openly supporting Paul Martin for a long time. Paul Martin was in an excellent 8 Cycle year for an election, but this also meant that he would soon be entering his winter cycle. Miss Copps was also in her 8 Cycle year and thus the closeness in the final vote (note: app 200 votes).

Joe Volpe Wins but Loses Power

Finally Joe had backed the right horse. He is rewarded with a gigantic Cabinet post. Unfortunately Joe is in his late 9 Cycle and early 1 Cycle year when all this happens, meaning that it will not last long. June 28, 2004 was the next federal election. The Liberals and Paul Martin win but with a minority government. Joe Volpe keeps trying to change immigration laws just as though he had a majority. Poor Paul Martin was in a horrible 6/4 month of a 7 Cycle year and thus the loss in status. Joe was in a good month in his “launching” or seeding 1 Cycle year in 2004.

Joe Wins Again but Party Loses

The next election was Jan. 23, 2006. Joe was in a 6/9 month of a 3 Cycle and on a 2/8 day. He had a good day but those around him would suffer. Guess what? The Liberals lost and now Joe won. His late 3 Cycle year will hamper his leadership campaign possibilities in a major way. Canada is in an 8 Cycle year and in late November and early December the mood will be very different than the image that Joe Volpe projects (note: left of center). My suggestion - Make a deal with Bob Rae right now and stay away from Scott Brison and Gerard Kenney.
